The intimate counterpart to The Freshwater Room, designed for the events where the room should feel considered rather than vast: board dinners, VIP client entertaining, leadership offsites, milestone team celebrations and private end-of-year dinners. It opens this December and the first bookings are being taken now.

Sweeping views across the crystal-blue water of Manly Cove and Sydney Harbour, with a private bar and the outdoor terrace.
Inspired by the elegance of the French Riviera, the design blends timeless luxury with an airy harbourside sensibility. Venetian plaster walls and American oak panelling with Loro Piana fabric inlay bring warmth to the room, a custom oak bar with an aquamarine stone top anchors one side, and two Murano glass chandeliers hang from a high-gloss stucco ceiling.
This is the room for events that need scale: end-of-year parties, awards and gala dinners, conferences and seminars, product launches and full-company celebrations. Choose long tables for 272, oval tables for 300, or cocktail for 300.

Standard hire is up to 5 hours, with extra time by arrangement. Lunch events run 11am to 3pm and dinner events from 6pm. Limited paid parking onsite, and both rooms are wheelchair accessible.

The Shelly Room holds 120 guests seated or 200 cocktail-style. The Freshwater Room holds 300 seated or 300 cocktail. Our events team will confirm the exact configuration for your numbers during your site inspection.
As a rule of thumb: big nights go to The Freshwater Room (end-of-year parties, awards dinners and conferences up to 300), while The Shelly Room suits smaller gatherings that still call for something special, like board dinners, VIP client functions and team celebrations up to 120 seated or 200 cocktail. If you're between the two, come see both on your site inspection and decide in the rooms.
The Shelly Room opens in December 2026, just in time for the festive season, and enquiries are open now. Booking early means first pick of dates in a brand-new room, and Christmas events booked before 31 August receive a complimentary arrival spritz per guest.
As early as you can, to secure your preferred date and room. For large-scale or peak-season events, 9 to 12 months ahead is ideal. Smaller mid-week or off-peak events can often be secured with much shorter lead times, and our short lead offer is built for exactly that.
Standard hire is up to 5 hours. Additional time can be arranged at an hourly rate, subject to licensing approval. Lunch events run between 11am and 3pm, and dinner events from 6pm.
Yes. Basic AV such as a microphone and audio connection is included. Additional equipment like staging or screens is available for an extra fee, and standard AV is built into the Day Delegate Package.
No. All catering and beverages are provided exclusively by our in-house team, which is how we hold quality, safety and liquor licensing compliance. Menus run from plated and shared feasting through to cocktail service, with interactive stations available as an enhancement.
Yes, we are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements. Please note our menus contain common allergens and all dishes are prepared in the same kitchen where allergenic ingredients are handled, so while every effort is taken we cannot guarantee food is completely allergen-free. Let your Event Executive know in advance and alert our waitstaff on the day.
A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, with further instalments due ahead of your event date. A 10% surcharge applies to food and beverage on Sundays, and 20% on public holidays.
Yes. Your package already includes tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, glassware and service equipment, and you are welcome to engage external stylists, florists or production suppliers by prior arrangement. Candles are permitted if enclosed in fireproof holders, and all theming must comply with fire and safety regulations.
A ferry from Circular Quay lands at Manly Wharf in roughly 18 minutes, and the event spaces are on the upper level, right where they step off. It removes the traffic and parking headache entirely, and the harbour crossing sets the tone for the night. Limited paid parking is available onsite, with public car parks nearby.
Yes. The venue operates under a precinct-wide liquor and entertainment licence, so amplified music and entertainment must comply with approved decibel limits. Your Event Executive will talk you through what that means for your run sheet, including DJs and live music.
Your event is confirmed once we receive your signed Venue Hire Agreement and the initial deposit. From there a dedicated Event Executive guides you through planning, from menu selection and run sheet to supplier access and bump-in times.
